Rebecca D. Thomas Brown Fitness Scholarship Fund
The Rebecca D. Thomas Brown Fitness Scholarship Fund improves the health outcomes of the Black community by providing 1-year scholarships for fitness coaching for Black women.
The scholarship fund is named in honor of the late grandmother of FitTRAC founder Darren Moore.
Grandma Becky dedicated her life to improving the education system for her 6 kids and the larger black community. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Early Childhood Education from Cal State East Bay. Her career impacted all levels of child development in San Francisco schools. She served as the manager of the Child Development Teacher's Program at City College of San Francisco, trainer of childcare teachers in the Bayview-Hunter's Point District, and was the Childcare Site Manager at both Burnett and Bret Harte Elementary Schools.
Grandma Becky was also a lifetime member of the NAACP and Sigma Gamma Rho.
Recipients of the Rebecca D. Thomas Brown Scholarship receive one year of personal coaching with FitTRAC, which includes:
- A personal accountability coach
- A personal exercise routine
- Unlimited access to FitTRAC's live, interactive virtual training sessions
- A personal lifestyle habit program
- Peer support from FitTRAC's online support group
We are proud to honor the legacy of Rebecca D. Thomas Brown and look forward to helping our community become happier, healthier, and stronger.
